CEFR-INFORMED ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES IMPLEMENTATION AUDIT WORKSHOP IN PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES: SERIES 1, 2024

KAJANG, 14 May 2024 - The first series of the CEFR-Informed English Language Courses Implementation Audit Workshop for 2024 successfully took place at the Park Inn by Radisson Putrajaya.

The event, which brought together English language academicians from 20 public universities (IPTA) across Malaysia, aimed to review and audit the alignment of English courses offered at these institutions with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The workshop's main objective was to ensure that the audited courses aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), a global standard for measuring language proficiency.

MARAN, TEMERLOH & BERA, 10 October 2024 – The Centre for Modern Languages (CML) in collaboration with the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), organised the Community Outreach @PPD programme in three districts in Pahang, namely Maran, Temerloh and Bera. This programme is also a collaborative effort with the Pahang State Education Department (JPNP) and the selected District Education Offices (PPD).

KUALA KRAU, PAHANG, 11 OCTOBER 2024 – The Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) organised a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme under the ‘Professor Turun Padang’ (PTP) initiative entitled Learn English Outdoor.

The PTP program was carried out on 11 October 2024 at SMK Kuala Krau, Temerloh, Pahang, in collaboration with the Centre for Industry and Community Network (ICoN) and Centre for Corporate Communication, and as part of the Kembara TVET@Kuala Krau program. This is a UMPSA program aiming to strengthen the TVET initiative and CSR programmes with the Kuala Krau communities.

CML CROSSING THE BORDER: COMMUNITY OUTREACH @PPD SETIU, TERENGGANU

16 October 2024 (Wednesday) -- A team from the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) crossed state borders to reach out to 55 language educators from Setiu, a district in Terengganu. The delegation set off from Pekan to the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) Setiu, aiming to share their expertise in integrating technology into pedagogy, with a special focus on generative artificial intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT specifically.

SEDIA UNTUK BERAKSI: PERANAN STAF TEKNIKAL MENYAMBUT SEMESTER BARU

7 OKTOBER 2024 - Bersempena dengan ketibaan Semester I Sesi 2024/2025, staf teknikal Pusat Bahasa Moden (PBM) sedang giat melaksanakan persediaan yang teliti dan menyeluruh untuk memastikan kelancaran proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran (PdP). Persediaan ini merangkumi penyemakan dan penyelenggaran peralatan di makmal bahasa, penyusunan perabot seperti meja, kerusi, dan papan tulis, serta pengemaskinian kelas dan aspek kebersihan. Kelas dan makmal PBM akan mula digunakan sepenuhnya untuk PdP bermula hari ini sehingga tamat semester ini. Persediaan menyeluruh ini akan membantu menyediakan persekitaran yang kondusif dan efisien bagi semua pihak, selain menjamin kelancaran proses PdP sepanjang semester.
