For admission of students in the field

1. A bachelor’s degree (KKM Level 6) in the field of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)/ Linguistics/ Language Studies, or in other related fields with minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 as recognized by the University Senate; or
   
   
2. A bachelor’s degree (KKM Level 6) in the field of Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)/ Linguistics/ Language Studies, or in other related fields, but not achieving Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 is subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in related field; or
   
   
3. Any other qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
   
   
4. The international students are required to achieve a minimum score of band 6.0 for the English Language Testing System (IELTS) or a score of 550 for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or level B2 for examinations aligned with CEFR or equivalent and accepted by the Government of Malaysia.

For admission of students not in the field

1. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in the field or related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate.
   OR
2. A Bachelor’s degree Level 6, MQF) in the field or related fields or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA 2.50, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment.
   
   
3. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must:
   
   
4. a) meet the minimum CGPA based on (i) to (ii); b) achieve at least level B2 of CEFR (or its equivalent) in the language of instruction; AND c) undergo prerequisite courses (Introduction to Linguistics, Phonetics, Syntax, Semantics or the equivalence of these courses).

No, you don’t have to if you are a student in the field.
If you are a student not in the field, then you are required to have an English language qualification certification with at least IELTS Band 6 or MUET Band 4 or TOEFL 80 or CEFR B2 for any acceptable CEFR-aligned English examinations. However, the validity for IELTS result is only for 2 years from the date test taken to registration.

Full time = Minimum 12 months, maximum 36 months
Part time = Minimum 24 months, maximum 72 months

All classes are in hybrid mode. Most of the classes are face-to-face and some of the classes are online.

Full time (local) = RM11075.00 (for 3 semesters)
Part time (local) = The total fee will be based on the number of semesters taken to complete the programme.
