20th to 24th September 2021- Foreign Language Week 1.0 2021 or known as FLW 1.0 was held for a week from Monday to Friday. This program involved five foreign languages offered at UMP which are Arabic, Malay, Mandarin, German and Spanish Language. It was a joint venture between the Foreign Language Department and Language Support Community, Centre for Modern Languages (CML) and the UMP Student Clubs.
A Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project entitled Akademi Menara Gading Yayasan Sultan Abdullah Universiti Malaysia Pahang 2021 (AMG YASA UMP 2021) officially kickstarted on last Saturday 11th September 2021 at 10:00 am. The project is a joint venture by Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) through its Centre for Modern Languages (CML) and Akademi Menara Gading (AMG) – an academy founded by the Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA). Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Indera Shahbandar (SMKIS) is chosen for this round of CSR project with 35 students joining in as the participants.
The Covid-19 pandemic has shifted the entire process of foreign languages teaching and learning into the online platform. These courses are offered by the Department of Foreign Languages, DFL of the Center for Modern Languages, CML, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, UMP.
Thursday 19 August 2021- A short moderation meeting was held via Google Meet with two invited judges for the 2nd CInTeLL (Creative and Innovative Teaching and Learning of Language) 2021 or known as ClnTeLL 2021 competition. This competition is created to showcase the latest teaching innovations and practices through a virtual exhibition competition.
13 AUGUST 2021 – A webinar on literary components was held as part of the UHL2442 Essential English course and in conjunction with the Reading Circle Programme 2021. It was a joint venture between the Language Support Unit of Centre for Modern Languages and UHL2442 Essential English course.
