PEKAN - On May 10 and 24, 2024, the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) planned and organized a training for facilitators. Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Mandarin Language Society (MLS) collaborated with the Centre for Modern Languages and GIFT Education studio to organize a Community Service (CSR) charity event on career visits and university admission consultation. This training was carried out at Dewan Kuliah Utama (DKU), CML, UMPSA Pekan Campus, and certificates were provided to the facilitators.
31 May 2024 – A pivotal coordination meeting for the Higher Education English Language Carnival 2024 (HE ELCa) convened via the Microsoft Teams platform for 2 hours from 10 am to 12 pm. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Dean of Academic at the Centre for Modern Languages, Dr. Fatimah Ali. The gathering brought together 15 team managers from 15 public universities across Malaysia. The theme for this year, 'Lingo, Tech, and Trads Unite,' was initially introduced, laying the groundwork for the innovative integration of traditional learning methods and contemporary educational tools.
18 May 2024 – In anticipation of Higher Education English Language Carnival (HE ELCa 2024) which is expected to take place on November 9, 2024, a Training of Facilitators (ToF) programme was recently conducted. This year, the ToF aims to equip student facilitators with necessary skills, especially to enhance their facilitation and communication skills for online and offline competitions and activities that will be carried out on the day of the event. Organised by the Language Support Unit, the programme took place at Block X, UMPSA Gambang from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., and it involved 40 UMPSA undergraduate students from various faculties selected to serve as facilitators for HE ELCa 2024.

Leading this session was Mr. Nicholas Musty, an English lecturer specialising in Writing from the Faculty of Global Communication at Kobe University. The session underscored the importance of practical application in achieving true learning, echoing Herbert's belief that learning is absorbed through active practice rather than passive observation.
19 Mei 2024 –Unit Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan Pusat Bahasa Moden (PBM) telah mengadakan satu latihan kecemasan. Seramai 20 ahli jawatankuasa (JK KKP) Pusat Bahasa Moden terlibat dalam menjayakan latihan kawad kecemasan yang diselaraskan oleh Puan Farah Hanan Aminallah dan Cik Arulselvi a/p Uthayakumaran yang bertindak sebagai Incident Commander (IC) bagi latihan ini. Latihan kawad kecemasan pada tahun ini dilaksanakan hasil gabungan tiga pusat tanggungjawab yang diketuai oleh Pusat Teknologi Digital dengan kerjasama Pusat Bahasa Moden dan Perpustakaan UMPSA. Persediaan dan perbincangan gerak kerja telah dilakukan sejak awal untuk memastikan latihan ini dapat dilaksanakan dengan lancar seperti yang dirancang dan mencapai matlamat yang diinginkan.
