BAHASA MELAYU DI AUSTRALIA: GLOBAL CLASSROOM

30 June 2022 – On 16 and 29 June 2022, the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) successfully conducted a Standard and Basic Global Classroom (GC) session for 2 courses, namely UHF2192 Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi and UHF 2161 Malay For Intermediate.

This year second cycle of online global classroom sessions were attended and benefitted by Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) international students who enrolled for UHF2192 Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi course for semester 2 2021/2022 and a number of international students who voluntarily interested to join in.

SPANISH TIKTOK CHALLENGE

15 June 2022 – A Spanish TikTok Challenge programme was successfully organized by the Espansia Club (UMP Spanish Club) from June 11, 2022, to June 19, 2022 via TikTok.

The online programme was offered to all UMP students and it garnered an extraordinary response, especially among students taking Spanish courses on campus.

2022 CHINESE SONG SINGING COMPETITION

1 - 31 May 2022 – The Mandarin Language Society (MLS) organised a Super Singer Singing Competition on campus that was opened to all Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students.

The main objectives of organising this competition were to provide a platform for students to practice their Mandarin, showcase their talents, and increase their interest in learning Mandarin by singing a Chinese Mandarin song.

CHINESE CHESS WORKSHOP 2022 CHECKS IN UMP

6 May 2022 – The Mandarin Language Society (MLS) successfully organized a Chinese chess workshop which was held online via Google Meet from 8.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

The workshop was warmly welcomed by both Chinese and non-Chinese participants with a total of 58 UMP students registered for the workshop.

EMBRACING THE ENDEMIC PHASE – MScTILS GOES HYBRID

August 2022 – These couple of years have witnessed teaching and learning evolve in unexpected ways, with all the banes and boons tagging along as the consequence of the COVID19 affecting every nook and cranny of our lives. Master of Science in Technology-Integrated Language Studies (MScTILS) has also been in that boat sailing through the course passing all the hurdles that the pandemic has caused but that’s the way the cookies crumble.
