Centre for Modern Languages had successfully conducted a Global Classroom (GC) session for Arabic for Beginners (UHF1141) course. It was held on 23 March 2022 via MS Teams.
7 February 2022 - Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) comprising of Mr Mohd Yusrizal Mohd Yusoof (Mercedes-Benz Malaysia), Mdm Farah Hani (DRB Hicom), Mr Mohd Najib Ibrahim (Cyberview Sdn Bhd), Mr Mohd Hazaruddin Muhammad (BASF Petronas Chemicals) and Mr Mohd Nizam Yaacob (Mercedes-Benz Malaysia) all gave very insightful feedback to industry current issues and needs related to local fresh graduates in the recent IAP meeting with the Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) that was conducted via Microsoft Teams platform. In line with the development of the 4.0 industrial revolution in Malaysia, this meeting was expected to increase the marketability of students upon graduation and to discuss any issues and improvements necessary to the programs and courses offered in CML.
25 February 2022 – A total of 22 students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Indera Shahbandar (SMKIS) under Program Akademi Menara Gading Universiti Malaysia Pahang Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah 2021 (AMG UMP YASA) had a movie viewing reward to wrap up the 2021 school year. Hosted by Mr. Shamsul Harbi, they gathered at the Executive Lounge, UMP Pekan Library for a session of ‘Netflix & Chill with Mr. Soul’.
On January 20, 2022, the Centre for Modern Languages successfully conducted a Global Classroom (GC) session for the course UHF2192: Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi via Google Meet. The participants of this event were the students of UMP, who had enrolled in the Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi course in semester 1 2021/2022, as well as some international students who had requested to participate in this Global Classroom. The guest lecturer, Dr. Balazs Huszka from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), delivered his lecture on 'Tempat-Tempat Menarik' (Interesting Places). The instructor of this course who organised this event was Ms. Jamilah Bebe Mohamad.
14 January 2022 – The very first series of sharing sessions this year entitled “Digital Content Creation” was conducted virtually by the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) for its associates on this blessed Friday morning. The main objective of this sharing session is to expose the CML associates with some useful information regarding the creation of digital content. For that reason, two renowned speakers in this field, Assoc. Prof. Dr Hamdan bin Daniyal, the Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technology and Dr Azwin Arif bin Abdul Rahim, the Head of Technical & Services, CML were invited to share their experience and some valuable input on this topic.
