USER ACCEPTANCE TEST (UAT) FOR VIRTUAL DESKTOP INFRASTRUCTURE (VDI) TECHNOLOGY SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED AT CML UMPSA

KUANTAN, 10 April 2026 – The Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully conducted a User Acceptance Test (UAT) session for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technology on Friday, 10 April 2026, from 8:30AM to 5:00PM at the Gambang Campus.

The session was carried out to verify and ensure that all installed equipment and systems are fully functional and ready for use. Over 300 sets of VDI equipment were inspected during the session.

Each set comprised essential components, including thin clients, monitors, computer mice, keyboards, headphones, and webcams. The primary scope of the UAT focused on confirming that every installed unit operates efficiently and meets the required performance standards.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is a technology that enables users to access a virtual desktop environment hosted on a central server rather than relying on individual physical computers. By using thin client devices, users can log in and access the same desktop, applications, and files from any workstation within the network.

This approach enhances data security, simplifies system maintenance, and allows for more efficient resource management. In an educational setting, VDI is especially important as it ensures consistent access to software, supports flexible teaching and learning, and reduces dependency on high-spec individual machines.

The handover and verification process were conducted collaboratively between representatives from CML and the Digital Technology Centre (DITEC), along with representatives from the appointed vendor. Representing CML were the Head of Technical, Dr. Azwin Arif Abdul Rahim and Asset Officer, Marziah Ramli. DITEC UMPSA was represented by Mohd Edeazry Hamzah.

The successful completion of this UAT session marks an important step towards enhancing digital infrastructure at CML, in line with UMPSA’s mission to promote high-quality, student-centred learning. This initiative ultimately strengthens the teaching and learning ecosystem by enabling more effective, innovative, and technology-supported practices for both students and staff.
