TOP-NOTCH EXHIBITION 2.0: CELEBRATING INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE IN TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION

Kuantan, 23 April 2026 – The Centre for Modern Languages (CML) at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) successfully hosted the TOP-Notch Exhibition 2.0 at both the UMPSA Gambang and Pekan campuses from 20 to 23 April 2026. The industry-simulated exhibition offered an authentic and professional experience for nearly 1,200 students enrolled in ULE2332 English for Technical Communication, as their infographic posters and technical oral presentations were evaluated by a distinguished panel of seven experts from both industry and UMPSA faculties.

The event, which served as a high-impact platform to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry standards, featured specialised industry representatives from UIE Solutions and Toray BASF PBT Resin Sdn. Bhd. It also included representatives from the Faculty of Computing, Faculty of Industrial Management, Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronic Engineering Technology, and Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology.

The four-day event wrapped up with a closing ceremony on the final day, held at the Library Auditorium, UMPSA Gambang. The closing ceremony was officiated by Assoc. Prof. Dr Zuraina Ali, Dean of CML. In her speech, she emphasised that the initiative highlights the growing importance of integrating communication competencies within technical disciplines. She added that the ability to articulate ideas clearly, respond to feedback constructively, and collaborate across disciplines is as vital as technical expertise.

TOP-Notch Exhibition 2.0 Programme Director, Nurkarimah Yusof, expressed her pride in the students' ability to translate complex technical data into engaging, professional presentations for industry experts. The integration of visual elements alongside oral delivery further highlights the importance of adapting communication to suit real-world expectations.

The highlight of the ceremony was the long-awaited reveal of the TOP-Notch Infographic Awards Top 5 finalists from each campus, all of whom demonstrated exceptional technical precision and creative brilliance. For the Gambang campus, the Soundcore AeroFit 2 team (Nor Arniesha Amna Artino, Aina Afifah Mohd Asran, and Ardina Natasha Rizal) won the top award. Meanwhile, the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI team (Jai Sankaran a/l Tinagaran, Surren a/l Gohilan, and Annas Riqmal Zain Azrai) emerged as champions for the Pekan campus.

Overall, this initiative reinforces UMPSA's commitment to the academic-industry synergy and national TVET aspirations, ensuring our graduates are truly "top-notch". Congratulations to the committee, all the winners and everyone involved for making TOP-Notch Exhibition 2.0 a resounding success!
