SMART TEACHING, SMARTER LEARNING WITH COMMBOX SMARTBOARD
PEKAN, 12 March 2025 – The Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), successfully conducted a training session on the Commbox Smartboard on 12 March 2025, from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Lab 10, Level 2, CML. The 2.5-hour session involved about ten lecturers and language teachers from the Division of English Language (DEL) and the Division of Foreign Languages (DFL).
The primary objective of the session was to introduce educators to the latest features of the Commbox Smartboard and provide practical knowledge on its application in real teaching scenarios. The training covered interactive whiteboarding, wireless screen sharing, multimedia integration, and collaborative tools designed to enrich the teaching and learning experience. This initiative is part of CML’s ongoing efforts to embrace educational technology and innovate language instruction.
Facilitated by experienced trainers Mr K.E. Ng and Mr Sajib, the session allowed participants to explore smartboard functions in a supportive, hands-on setting. Practical demonstrations were tailored to language instruction, helping educators see the potential of the tool in their own classrooms.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing enthusiasm to apply the smartboard features in their upcoming lessons. One of the participants, Rosnani Ismail, stated, “I gained a lot of valuable insights from the workshop that can further enhance my teaching and learning strategies in this coming semester.” Another participant, Nurul Nadia Muhammad, said, “The session was informative and practical, providing clear guidance on how to effectively integrate the tool into teaching and learning activities.” The training will enhance their confidence in using new technology and inspire new approaches to student engagement and lesson delivery.
As hybrid and tech-driven learning environments become the norm, equipping lecturers with the skills to navigate and apply digital tools effectively is important. Through this initiative, CML reaffirms its commitment to fostering innovation in education, supporting its educators in staying ahead with the current technology.
