Ready, Set, GOogle Classroom!
Pekan, 3 Dec 2020 - The general idea of Google Classroom for Beginners surfaced after the CMCO announcement by the Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob which largely affected education institutions nationwide to carry out their academic activities online.
With a clear understanding of the importance of mastering a learning management system to assist remote learning, E-learning Unit of Centre for Modern Languages, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, has taken the initiative to gather CML’s academic staff as well as inviting educators across the country to sit for an online training session for beginner Google Classroom users via Google Meet.
The hands-on training session objectives are straightforward, to share basic knowledge in operating Google Classroom and to guide educators in enhancing teaching and learning in both synchronous and asynchronous mode. A number of 24 participants, including external educators and administrators from schools and institutions alike, were interested to learn the how-tos and benefits of using Google Classroom.
Amongst the feedback from the participants was that the training is most relevant to their work and they are keen to integrate other Google Apps to promote effective learning. To quote the Head of E-learning Unit, CML, Dr Ruhil Amal Azmuddin, “Integrating technology is not a new dimension in teaching and learning. Having to resort to remote learning has indeed given a boost to the 21st century teaching and learning in this country.”
