PREPARED FULL ACCREDITATION VISIT OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY PROGRAM (MQAVA)
Center for Modern Languages (CML) - On 23 and 24 February 2021, the Centre for Modern Languages, (CML) has received a full accreditation visit from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program offered by CML.
The program was conducted online for two days involving MQA and several PTJs in UMP such as the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS), Centre for Academic Innovation & Competitiveness (PIDA), and the Centre of Human Sciences (CHS). Following the announcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) by the government, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) has conducted online accreditation across six (6) states including Pahang from 13 January 2021, using the Zoom application.
The sessions were conducted subject to compliance with Standard Operating Procedures set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC). In the survey, the two appointed MQA assessors gathered with PBM management, student supervisors and current students. In addition, the panel of assessors have used the facilities in CML and UMP using the meeting with the Quality Unit of CML and UMP. According to PM Dr Hafizoah Kassim, the Deputy Dean of Research and Development, this exercise is done to obtain full accreditation for the Doctor of Philosophy Program offered by PBM. According to her again, the postgraduate program which is fully accredited can increase student’s enrolment. Directly, this will increase UMP’s student enrolment statistics as well as research and publication activities by CML academic staff. CML will continue to run the academic programs offered following the eligibility requirements set by MQA to provide programs which are in line with the vision and mission of the University and the Ministry of Higher Education.
