FULL ACCREDITATION VISIT MASTER OF SCIENCE PROGRAM IN INTEGRATED LANGUAGE STUDIES/MASTER OF SCIENCE IN TECHNOLOGY- INTEGRATED LANGUAGE STUDIES
Center for Modern Languages (CML) - On 22 - 23 JUNE 2021 (TUESDAY - WEDNESDAY), a full accreditation visit was held for the Master of Science in Technology -Integrated Language Studies program at the Center for Modern Languages.
The two days online program ran by MQA involved Modern Language Center and several other PTJs in UMP. Following the announcement of the Movement Control Order (PKP) by the government involving six (6) states including Pahang from 13 January 2021, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) conducted online accreditation using Zoom application, subject to compliance with Standard Operating Procedures set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC). During the visit, the Panel of Assessors appointed by MQA met with PBM management, student supervisors, students who are currently enrolled in the program and graduates. Apart from that, the panel of evaluators were shown the facilities used in PBM and UMP by meeting with the Quality Unit of PBM and UMP. According to PM Dr Raha Radzuan, this accreditation was done to obtain full accreditation for the Program offered by the center. According to her, Postgraduate programs that are fully accredited can increase student enrollment into the program and this should increase the statistics of student enrollment to UMP and PBM, furthermore increasing research and publication activities by academic staff in PBM. This accreditation program also involved various departments in University Malaysia Pahang. PBM will continue to ensure that the academic programs offered at PBM comply with the eligibility requirements set by the MQA to ensure quality programs in line with the vision and mission of the University and the Ministry of Higher Education.
