Potential Collaborations between UMP and TJNU
Pekan, 22 January 2021- The first virtual meeting was held between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Tianjin Normal University, China to discuss potential collaborations between the two universities. The three-hour meeting began at 10 a.m. and ended at about 1 p.m.
UMP was represented by Dr. Mohd Azmir Mohd Azhari, Centre for International Relations (CIR) Director, and Dr. Nik Aloesnita Nik Mohd Alwi, Centre for Modern Languages (CML) Dean, while TNU was represented by Head of Division, Global Mobility, Su Bo. Also present were Mdm. Ezihaslinda Ngah, CML Internationalisation Coordinator, Mdm. Kang Mei Feng, Advisor for Mandarin Language Society, and Ms. Norul Fadilah, CIR Senior Executive.
During the meeting, TNU acknowledged that they have received the draft of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from UMP and will finalise the Chinese version to be approved and signed. The focus of the collaboration would be on language services, student exchanges and other activities in areas of mutual interest including the Global Classroom initiative.
It is hoped that collaborations between UMP and TNU will add academic value for both institutions in the years ahead and subsequently will contribute to the development of human capital.
