FINAL REVIEW OF IEP DOCUMENTS CONDUCTED AHEAD OF MQA SUBMISSION
Pekan, 28 April 2026 – The Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), conducted a final review session for the Intensive English Programme (IEP) documentation as part of its final preparations for submission to the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
Held at the Faculty Meeting Room, the session was carried out in collaboration with representatives from the Centre for Academic Accreditation (PAA), UMPSA, to ensure that all application materials were complete and submission-ready. Having undergone several prior rounds of review, the session focused on final verification, with no major revisions required.
The development of the IEP involved dedicated teams across five key language components: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing, and Grammar. Each team developed modules across A1 to C1 levels, with team leaders appointed based on their areas of expertise following their participation in the English Language Higher Education Assessment in Malaysia (ELHAM) Cascading Workshop.
The session was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Noor Raha Mohd Radzuan, Deputy Dean (Academic); Dr. Ezihaslinda Ngah, Head of the English Language Department, and Project Leader; Dr. Wan Jumani Fauzi; and the IEP component heads: Aisyah Hanum Abu Bakar (Speaking), Nursyafawati Sabuan (Reading), Azimah Ahmad Zaki (Listening), Marziah Ramli (Writing), and Nor Suhardiliana Sahar (Grammar).
Each component was supported by a dedicated team of language instructors and advisors:

- Listening Team: Mohd Shafiq Abdul Jabar, Noraisah Nurul Fatwa Mohd Razali, Wan Noor Farah Wan Shamsuddin, Aisyah Hanim Azman (Advisors: Dr. Siti Norzaimalina Abd Majid and Zarina Mohd Ali). Dr. Siti Norzaimalina initially served as a component head before transitioning into an advisory role.

Also present were Nur Anisnabila Dianah and Siti Asma’ Yaacob, who served as secretaries and played key roles in coordinating, updating, and refining the documentation throughout the preparation process. Administrative staff also contributed significantly by supporting coordination and other essential administrative functions.
Representing PAA were Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rashid Ab Hamid, Director of PAA, and Lily Azwati Ab Latip, Manager of PAA, who provided valuable guidance during the final verification process. The session was also graced by Associate Professor Dr. Zuraina Ali, Dean of CML, who expressed her appreciation to the PAA representatives for their commitment and support in facilitating the centre’s preparation for MQA submission.
The preparation of the IEP documentation began in February 2026 and was completed within approximately two months. Despite the short timeframe, the team worked diligently and demonstrated strong commitment to ensure that all documents met the required standards and were ready for the next stage of the approval process. Feedback from external assessors also played a vital role in the preparation.
The faculty hopes that the application will receive MQA approval, enabling the Intensive English Programme to be offered in September 2026. The programme aims to support international students who do not yet meet the required English language proficiency, equipping them with the necessary skills for academic success at the university level.
This initiative reflects UMPSA’s commitment to inclusive, high-quality education and its mission to prepare students for successful academic journeys.
