Mohd Shafeirul Zaman bin Abd Majid, a senior language teacher in Centre for Modern Languages along with three other lecturers from Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology; Dr Wan Nor Fazilah binti Wan Ismail (head of the research); co-researchers Dr Siti Umairah binti Mokhtar and Dr Shariza binti Jamek innovated the conventional approach in teaching laboratory quality management according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards to an interesting and fun approach through game-based method in the classroom.

Labquest – Laboratory Quality Management Learning Through a Board-Game Approach integrates the prior knowledge attained in the classroom and instead of just memorizing it for the application and assessment purposes, it was transformed to a fun learning approach similar to that of Monopoly game concept. Players were given some capital in the beginning of the game where they can purchase any sector that they want and fulfil the requirement correctly as the element of rewards and punishments are also involved. These take concern about their existing knowledge on the topic taught in the classroom and as a result, the approach is proven to be effective based on the pilot-test conducted.

The IIEE’24 event involved more than 70 participations from higher learning institutions, schools and private organisations in different categories not only from Kuantan but as far as other states in the country.
