UMPSA OUTBOUND MOBILITY PROGRAMME TO IUH, VIETNAM

HO CHI MINH CITY, 27 November 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), through the Centre for Modern Languages (CML), successfully conducted an outbound mobility programme to the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), Vietnam, from 23 to 27 November 2025.

The programme aimed to strengthen academic exchange, cross-cultural understanding, and professional development among English language students from both institutions. The programme began with a guided tour of IUH’s campus, including the Faculty of Foreign Languages.

UMPSA participants explored the university’s modern learning facilities and unique architectural layout, gaining insight into Vietnam’s English-as-a-Foreign-Language learning environment. A special highlight was the opportunity to observe part of IUH’s graduation ceremony, which provided participants with meaningful exposure to Vietnamese academic traditions and university culture.

Academic sharing sessions formed a key component of the mobility programme. UMPSA representatives delivered talks on career opportunities for English language graduates in Malaysia, highlighting employability skills, emerging industry trends, and professional challenges in the global workplace. The sessions encouraged active discussion with IUH students, promoting knowledge exchange and broadening perspectives on future career pathways.

In addition to academic activities, participants took part in a cultural immersion trip to the Mekong Delta. They experienced local traditions, river-based livelihoods, and Vietnamese cuisine, which deepened intercultural awareness and strengthened the relationship between UMPSA and IUH.

Overall, the outbound mobility programme enhanced participants’ global outlook, intercultural competence, and professional readiness. The initiative reflects UMPSA’s continuous commitment to internationalisation and the development of meaningful global partnerships.
