Sharing Session: From Action Research to Teaching Innovation Competitions
13 Oktober 2020- A sharing session was conducted by Dr Wan Jumani Fauzi, PM Dr Zuraina Ali and Mr Mohd Shafierul Zaman on action research that can be conducted to enhance the teaching and learning process.
Through action research, an instructor aims to achieve the learning outcomes of a course by reflecting on a learning issue and attempting to improve his/her teaching practice in a more engaging and creative way. Apart from that, the documentation of the action research would empower an instructor to participate in competitions such as CML’s own innovation competition CInTeLL, K-NOVASI, IUCEL, AKRI, and ultimately AAN. Such recognition would also assist one to further one’s career as the participation in any innovation related competition would require extensive documentation especially in preparation of files, portfolios, videos and other supporting documents. A good innovation and its excellent implementation are nothing if one cannot prove one’s claim. The key is to be creative, provide sufficient evidences, and have self-reflection as well as reflections from the students.
