ONLINE SUMMER CAMP 2021: "KAMU APA KHABAR?"

Online Summer Camp 2021: Basic Communication In Malay (Komunikasi Asas Bahasa Melayu) For UMP International Postgraduate Students was successfully held on 14 to 16 July 2021. This program is a collaborative program organized by Postgraduate Association (PGA) Session 2020/2021 and Pusat Bahasa Moden (PBM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang.

The program was conducted by Ms. Jamilah Bebe binti Mohamad, a language teacher from PBM via Google Meet. A total of 25 students has joined the program which aims to motivate the international postgraduate students to learn and improve their communication skills in Bahasa Melayu. Other than that, the students were also exposed to basic communication skills for daily activities in Bahasa Melayu.

The program started at 8.30 pm and ended at 10.30 pm for three days and students were presented with different topics for each day such as Slot 1: Self Introduction and Expression in Bahasa Melayu (Memperkenalkan Diri), Slot 2: Food, Beverages, Buying, and Selling Activities (Makanan, Minuman dan Aktiviti Jual Beli) and Slot 3: Number, Money, Buying and Selling Activities (Nombor, Wang, dan Aktiviti Jual Beli).

The goal of learning the Malay language is not only to assist the international students in using the language in the process of teaching and learning in classes, but it could also help the students when using references of academic materials in the Malay language. Last but not least, it is hoped that this program gives a positive impact to the international postgraduate students and local communities.
