EMPOWERING LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

PEKAN, 4 January 2025 - Mandarin Language Society (MLS) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has successfully organized a one-day Leadership Workshop on 4 January 2025 at Dewan Kuliah Utama, Centre for Modern Languages, UMPSA Pekan. The program was held to enhance leadership skills, organizational management, and social etiquette among participants, fostering better collaboration among society members. This workshop was attended by 35 participants from Gambang and Pekan campuses. The event focused on sharing valuable insights on club and program management, financial planning, entrepreneurship, and effective communication in multimedia and social media. 

Before the program began, the participants were served breakfast from 9:00 am to 9:30 am. The first session started at 9:30 am, focusing on club and program organizational management and credit claims, conducted by Tan Khai Xuan, the MLS Vice Secretary. Following this, from 10:45 am to 11:55 am, Lai Xie Ern, the MLS Vice Treasurer shared valuable insights into financial planning for clubs and associations. After lunch break at 12:00 pm, the workshop continued with a session on entrepreneurship and sponsorship from 1:00 pm to 2:25 pm, led by Lee Wen Hui, the MLS Exco of External Affairs. The final session, held from 2:30 pm to 3:55 pm, covered social etiquette, multimedia, and social media protocols, presented by Allycia Liew Ee En, the MLS Vice president and Koh Liang Zi, the Head of Multimedia department. The event ended at 4:00 pm, marking the end of a productive and insightful day. 

One of the MLS committee members, Lau Kar Choon said, “I learned a lot about the procedures and the precautions that we should know when we plan to organise any activities in our university. It was also a great opportunity for us to connect with other committee members and share our ideas over each other. To conclude, this workshop was well-organized and very beneficial for my personal and leadership growth”. 

This event concluded successfully, equipping participants with leadership, organizational, and financial management skills and knowledge crucial for effective leadership and teamwork. It provides practical knowledge on handling club activities, sponsorship, and social media, which are crucial for managing a student organisation effectively. By attending this workshop, students will be able to organize a program more smoothly and systematically in the future.
