CML Volunteers during Physical Students Admission to UMP

On 6 March and 21 March 2021, several Centre for Modern Languages (CML) staffs had volunteered to manage the process of students’ physical admission to the campus. Staffs who volunteered have worked together to assist the University Health Center (PKU) in conducting health screenings on students who return to campus. According to Najjahul Huda and Jamilah Bebe, the opportunity to volunteer when the country is facing a Covid-19 pandemic is a lifetime opportunity because it requires a strong spirit and high sacrifice.

Also, this is the time for both of them to empathize with the doctors and nurses by wearing a complete set Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) outfit which normally worn by the frontliners. It is not only giving them a new experience in the volunteering field but also to experience wearing the PPE throughout the whole day. The health screening process went smoothly and the volunteers who assisted PKU involved various departments including CML. During this admission session, there were also two other CML staffs; Mrs Rosjuliana and Mrs Hanisah Kasbon who involved in managing students at Kolej Kediaman Ketiga UMP as a principal and a fellow. They are both managing student’s admission to dormitory residents and isolation. Isolation tasks require high commitment because these tasks need them not only to be on time but also to follow all the guidelines and the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been set to control and prevent the transmission of Covid-19 among students and campus residents.
