CHINESE CHESS WORKSHOP 2022 CHECKS IN UMP

6 May 2022 – The Mandarin Language Society (MLS) successfully organized a Chinese chess workshop which was held online via Google Meet from 8.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.

The workshop was warmly welcomed by both Chinese and non-Chinese participants with a total of 58 UMP students registered for the workshop.

The main objective of this program is to raise awareness on Chinese culture and traditional games of Chinese society to UMP students.

It is also intended to encourage cultural exchange among UMP students and to provide a platform for students to balance their academic studies and engagement in games.

At the end of the workshop, all participants had a wonderful time together as they played a game of Chinese Chess Kahoot quiz and prominently three winners were selected based on the scores obtained.

The winners are:
1st prize: TONG HUI SHAN (SC20033)
2nd prize: GOH JO YING (EA20018)
3rd prize: GAN YU EN (SC20014)

To cap, the event was a success as the three-fold main objectives were met and it also garnered positive response from the participants.
