SUJANA KIRANA TRIUMPHS FOR CML AT UMPSA KIK NEW HORIZON CONVENTION 2024
The 2nd UMPSA Innovative and Creative Group (KIK) New Horizon (HB) Convention 2024, hosted by Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) from 13 to 15 November 2024, showcased the innovative spirit of 21 teams from various departments, including the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) with their team, Sujana Kirana.
Held at Dewan Serbaguna UMPSA Pekan, this year’s three-day convention gathered 180 UMPSA staff members competing for three grand prizes and eight special awards, including the notable Promising Award (Anugerah Harapan).
After a brief hiatus from the KIK competition, CML returned with their newly established team, Sujana Kirana, under the guidance of coordinator Ms. Sarah Zulkiple and advisor Dr. Wan Jumani Fauzi. The team, which consists of six members with diverse backgrounds and expertise, aims to embody the qualities of virtue, wisdom, intelligence, and beauty, as suggested by the Malay word "Sujana Kirana." The members include Ms. Sarah Zulkiple, Ms. Nor Ashikin Sulaiman, Mr. Badrul Naim Abidin, Ms. Rosjuliana Hidayu Rosli, Ms. Yanti Salina Shaari, and Ms. Marziah Ramli.
CML’s innovative project developed by Sujana Kirana’s team, the CML Customer Satisfaction Feedback App, is a standout feature. Designed to streamline feedback collection from students and staff, the app aims to enhance user engagement and improve service quality. This initiative underscores CML’s commitment to excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
Sujana Kirana’s efforts were recognised with one of the eight special awards, the Promising Award (Anugerah Harapan) and a Silver Rating, acknowledging their potential and innovative contributions. They shared the spotlight for the same award with other notable winners, including Smart Lab Ventures from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA)-DITEC and team Catalyst from UMPSA Library.
All in all, the 2nd UMPSA KIK New Horizon Convention 2024 aimed to foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the university community. By encouraging problem-solving projects and ideas that improve service delivery quality, the event reflects UMPSA’s dedication to continuous improvement and excellence.
CML’s success at this year’s convention not only highlighted their innovative spirit but also set a benchmark for future participation. Their journey exemplifies how collaboration and creativity can drive meaningful change within the university ecosystem.
Special recognition must also be given to Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Norazwina Zainol, Director of the UMPSA Quality Assurance Division, and her team at PPSK for their dedication in planning the event and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation at UMPSA.
