These courses are elective in nature and students are expected to enrol as it is considered as graduation requirement. Local students are free to commit to learning and completing 2 stages (Beginner & Intermediate) of any foreign language courses listed above. However, for international students, they are required to complete the Bahasa Melayu course as a part of their graduation requirement. For your information, German 1, German 2, German 3 and German 4 courses are offered exclusively to UMP dual degree program students.
The language instructors involved have shown great commitment throughout their e-learning process despite moving their classrooms into their homes because of the Movement Control Order, MCO. Constraints and limitations in terms of facilities and infrastructure have not dampened their determination to carry out teaching and learning. Various software and application are implemented to facilitate their teaching and learning session. Among them are Kalam, Google Classroom, Miscrosoft Teams, FlipGrid, Kahoot and so on.
The effort and commitment shown by the foreign language instructors allow students to continue learning foreign languages despite the campus physical closure. Their dedication has made it possible for the courses to be conducted online for the past three consecutive semesters. It is hoped that the teaching and learning experience will be more effective and meaningful in the coming future. Congratulations and thank you to all teaching staff at the Department of Foreign Language, especially to the former Head Of Program, Dr Mohammad Musab Azmat Ali and a warm welcome to our new Head of Program, Dr Wan Jumani Binti Fauzi. Welcome to the FL team!
