MUET EXAMINATION
15 July 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) made waves in the realm of English language proficiency as it recently hosted the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) examination, attracting an impressive turnout of 96 candidates. The campus became a hub of linguistic prowess as UMP students displayed their exceptional language skills and academic excellence during this highly regarded test.
Taking place within the serene and scholarly environment of Centre of Modern Languages (CML) examination rooms, the MUET exam witnessed a diverse group of candidates from various faculties, nationalities and academic backgrounds.
A total of 67 local Malaysian candidates and 28 international students attended the examination. The exam was organized by CML Competency & Proficiency Unit lead by Ms. Noor Azlinda Zainal Abidin with the team.
The MUET examination, administered by the Malaysian Examinations Council, plays a vital role in assessing English language proficiency among Malaysian students. It evaluates candidates based on four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The test acts as a benchmark for English language competency, highlighting a candidate's ability to communicate effectively and excel in an increasingly globalized world.
Ms. Aisyah Hanum Abu Bakar, the Coordinator for the UMP MUET examination, commended the students for their determination. "I am proud of our students who have demonstrated their eagerness and preparedness in this examination session," she stated. " All of them were punctual. Some of the candidates came as early as 7.15 A.M.”.
The participation of UMP students in the MUET exam not only signifies their individual achievements but also reflects positively on the university's commitment to producing graduates who are proficient in English.
