HARMONY FEAST: UNITING FOR IFTAR
March 26, 2024 - In a spirit of community and solidarity, the Centre for Modern Languages (CML) stepped up to join forces in the Gotong-royong Iftar Jamaie Programme. Scheduled for the day, the event took place from 8:30 am at the Student Activity Centre, Pekan Campus, UMPSA.
UMPSA Foundation and the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN) have joined hands to organize a special Gotong-royong Iftar Programme, providing daily iftar meals in celebration of the Ramadan Festival 2024M/1445H. Around 2,000 students (Pekan and Paya Besar campuses) are served daily, coordinated by PIMPIN.
The primary objective of this collaborative effort is to foster unity among UMPSA staff members, who will collectively prepare iftar meals for UMPSA students. CML staff work together to engage in the preparations for the evening meal, marking an occasion of communal bonding and shared responsibility.
Under this initiative, a diverse array of dishes is meticulously prepared, catering to the dietary preferences and tastes of the Muslim students. The menu includes white rice, chicken opor, and mixed vegetables, complemented by delights like dates and watermelon, following the established schedule.
This event not only serves as a great opportunity for CML staff to unite in a spirit of camaraderie but also emphasizes the institution's commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within its community. This collaborative activity stands as a testament to the values of unity, compassion, and generosity that are intrinsic to the spirit of Ramadan, embodying the essence of community-driven initiatives aimed at promoting mutual support and solidarity.
