BRINGING CULTURES TOGETHER: MULTILINGUAL ADVENTURES MODULE LAUNCHED IN YOGYAKARTA

28 November 2024 - A milestone in international collaboration was marked on November 28, 2024, with the launch of the Multilingual Adventures: Exploring Life, Hobbies, & Go Green module at Pesantren Darul Adwar. The event celebrated the spirit of creativity, education, and environmental responsibility, showcasing the power of partnerships across borders.

This unique module results from dedicated efforts by UMPSA students from the Arabic Club (KEBARA) Public Speaking Cluster and the Leadership Cluster of Residential College 3. Enriching the project with vibrant and captivating visuals were the talented young illustrators from Paya Besar Creative Illustrator at Sekolah Kebangsaan Gambang, who earned recognition with gold and silver medals at CITREX 2023 and 2024.

The project’s main author, Rosjuliana Hidayu Binti Rosli from the Centre for Modern Languages, created a resource that connects students to vital topics such as environmental care, personal development, and cultural exchange. Two experienced editors supported her: Nur Syafawati Binti Sabuan, a language educator, and Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Khairunnisa Binti Muthusamy from UMPSA’s Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology. Their expertise ensured the module’s quality and relevance.

Funded by YB Dato' Indera Mohd Shahar Bin Abdullah with the support of Malaysia’s Ministry of Health, the module includes a strong environmental focus through its "Go Green" initiative, encouraging students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

During the launch event, 40 students from Pesantren Darul Adwar participated in engaging teaching sessions led by the Malaysian team. They explored topics related to hobbies, life skills, and environmental conservation, making the sessions both educational and enjoyable.

“This project goes beyond traditional learning. It connects people, inspires young minds, and promotes meaningful actions for a better world,” said Anngie the president of KEBARA.

The day concluded with a formal presentation of the module to the leadership of Pesantren Darul Adwar, signifying a shared commitment to education, collaboration, and sustainability.

The Multilingual Adventures module is a shining example of what can be achieved through teamwork, creativity, and a shared vision for a brighter future.
